Each type of text presents its own challenges and needs to be approached in a different way. So a product description may contain very specialised terminology, where as a press release or marketing material must grab the attention of your target reader. In any case, the aim is to rewrite your Italian text in seamless and idiomatic English while retaining the essential meaning and purpose of the original.

Proofreading / Editing

It is important to have every translated text checked by another native speaker to ensure accuracy. The quotation I send you for translation will include proofreading costs, unless you prefer to arrange this yourself.

I am also available for proofreading only projects. However, if a text contains serious and multiple errors, particularly if the text was originally written by a non-native speaker of English, then you may require an editing service. Please try to evaluate which service you need, as editing is more time consuming and creative, so it incurs higher fees.

Most appropriate for marketing texts, in transcreation we attempt to translate the untranslatable. Some concepts, especially in advertising and marketing, can be so culturally specific, that an equivalent in the target text simply does not exist or is inappropriate. Transcreation aims to transmit the intentions and effect of the original, but in doing so, creates a new concept. It is the very opposite of a literal translation.
